He served as Director-General in charge of Border Guards, Deputy Director-General of Border Guards and Director of the General Directorate of Security and Intelligence.
In May 2020, he was promoted to the post of Minister, prior to his assumption of the position of Director General of the Saudi Border Guard. In May 2022, a Royal Decree was issued in Saudi Arabia stipulating the referral of the former Director of the Pension and the appointment of General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shahri as Director of the Saudi Arabia’s Border guards. He served as Assistant Director of Police in the Makkah region of Saudi Arabia, served as Director of the General Administration of the Saudi Arabia Security and Intelligence Service, served as Deputy Director General of the Saudi Arabia Border Guard, and served as Director General of the Border Guard by Royal Warrant.

General Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Shahri has many experiences in the management of various military institutions. He has also held many positions in military institutions in Saudi Arabia.
His work in many positions has led to him gaining a lot of experience, which has emerged positively on his role in policing Saudi Arabia’s borders, preserving them from spoilers and saboteurs.
General Mohammed al-Shahri was able to counter many terrorist groups coming to the Kingdom’s borders and worked to eliminate them.
